Surgery Day

Posted in Kids by tai2tee on January 26, 2010

As some of you might have known, Ziqry had his surgery on Friday. Alhamdulillah, the surgery went smoothly and Ziqry recovered much earlier than I expected.

We left home at 6.45 on Friday morning as the surgery was scheduled at 7.30. Here is Ziqry in the playroom waiting for his name to be called and by the way he was the 1st patient on that day:

Ziqry doesnt know what’s going on..but he did asked me why he was there. I dont have the heart to tell him and I dont want him to freak out, and all I said was, the dentist wants to have a look at his teeth again. Minutes later, the Anesthetist appeared, he told me that I am allowed to accompany Ziqry in the Operating Theatre. Surprising huh?! When we were led to the OT, I felt weak, my legs went wobbly and I felt like getting out of there together with Ziqry. The Anesthetist told me to sit on the chair and I put Ziqry on my lap. Ziq kept shaking his head, he kept saying “I dont want” I assured him that everything is going to be fine..He then showed Ziq a small mask, and made Ziqry hold and he played with it. Their conversation goes like this:

Doctor: Hi Ziqry, this is a gas mask, u know if you want to become a pilot, u need to put on this mask when you are up in the air. Would you like to try it??

Ziqry: No, i dont want to be a pilot, i want to be a policeman, i want to catch bad guys

Doctor: Oh you want to become policeman, that is good. Ok Ziqry why dont you smell the mask, I’ve put a certain smell on it, can you guess?

Ziqry (had a sniff): I dont want this one, i want strawberry.

Doctor: Strawberry? Why would you want to smell strawberry?

Ziqry: Because i like Cameron Highland (Ziqry always associates strawberries with Cameron Highland)

Doctor: Hey Ziqry, this mask has a rose smell..they have roses in Cameron Highlands too you know. They make bandung drink with roses, do you like bandung?

Ziqry: No i dont like bandung, i drink Ice Milo Dinosaur.
The doctor whispered ” Mummy i cannot bedek your son lah, looks like we have to force him.” Poor doctor, he tried to psycho Ziqry with all his might but I guess Ziq was too tough for him to handle hahaha..

2 nurses came over, i held on to Ziqry, while the doctor held the mask over his mouth. He struggled but after a while he went to sleep. I was told to sit on the chair, i wasnt allowed to see the actual surgery. 10 minutes later, the surgeon came over, patted on my shoulder, “Mummy its over. He’s still bleeding, but we’ll observe him for a while”. After 40 mins, Ziqry was discharged. . Before we left, the nurses bid goodbye to us, I was surprised when Ziqry opened his mouth and said, “Thank you, See you next time ok?”….Hey Hey Ziqry no more next time ah please…I dont want to go through this anymore can?!

Tooth Oh Tooth

Posted in Kids by tai2tee on January 21, 2010

Ziqry’s gums swelled badly this morning, as advised by the dentist on Tuesday, if the gums swelled in the next few days, I have to bring him back to see her. I brought Ziqry to see the dentist this morning, after a thorough examination, she referred me to National Dental Centre as she’s worried there might be underline cracks in the gums, at least at the NDC they are able to have a better diagnosis.

I rushed home as I want to make an appointment to see the Paediatric dentist by TODAY. You know how kancheong I am rite? It was 11.15am, the clerk asked whether I can make it by 11.45? I looked at the clock and replied Yes I can..the appointment was fixed, I drove at 130km via PIE n AYE..reached NDC at 11.35am.

Dr Raymond attended to Ziqry, he’s such a gentle and a soft spoken dentist. The X-ray results shows that one of his tooth was misaligned and he suggested that we should extract it. His tooth wasnt shaky, its still strong, however each time he closes his mouth, the lower tooth will touch the upper tooth hence causing him to have pain. His advise is to go for a surgery under General Anaesthesia and have the tooth removed. Its the most quickest and kindest way for Ziqry. Can I say NO? I want to end his sufferings and I know how painful it is for him if I dont have it removed but at the same time, I hate to see him being wheeled into the Operation Theatre and I hate not being able to be by his side.

Ziq, Ummi will be waiting for you, and I’ll pray to Allah that everythings gonna be fine for you and after this you’ll be able to eat normally again.

My little boy’s surgery will be done tomorrow at 7.30am. And right now I am having butterflies in my tummy and I dont think I’ll be able to sleep tonight.

Minor Accident At Home

This is what happen when 2 boys are in the toilet, enjoying each others’ company, they jumped, they splashed water, played with shampoo, laughed and the next moment :’(

Ziqry knocked his mouth on the cover of the toilet bowl, he was bleeding badly, I had to rush him to the dentist, seems that his 3 top teeth has been misaligned, and thankfully the dentist said his teeth looks fine and there’s no need for extraction, phew!

Aiyo Healache, i tell you i Healache ahh, macam2 hal ini lua olang!

Umrah 2009 – Al Ula/Old Fort

22nd Dec 2009

A 5 hours drive from Madinah Al Munawwarah, Al Ula is characterized by its attractive natural scenery marked by the reddish sandstone inselbergs carved by natural agencies into beautiful and attractive shapes. Sand dunes and inselbergs combined together to form a wonderful display of thrilling nature.

If you think it was freaking hot at the desert, you are wrong! It was freaking cold, if you had noticed, the others were wearing a jacket except ME! Actually I wore long john underneath but it wasnt of much help lah..The wind was super duper COLD. I LOIKE…

Umrah 2009 – Madinah Al-Munawarrah

Date of Visit: 21 Dec 2009

Al-Masjid al-Nabawi often called the Prophet’s Mosque, is a mosque situated in the city of Medina. As the final resting place of the Islamic Prophet Muhammad, it is considered the second holiest site in Islam by Muslims (the first being the Masjid al-Haram in Mecca) and is the second largest mosque in the world.

One of the most notable features of the site is the Green Dome over the center of the mosque, where the tomb of our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH, Peace Be Upon Him) is located.

When I 1st glanced at the Masjid, it was hard to look away. A structure of inexplicable beauty… it’s vision will be imprinted in my heart forever. I was totally awestruck by the beautiful architecture of Masjid-Nabawi. Simply the most impressive Masjid that I have seen so far. The evenings, with the jet black sky, crescent moon, and sparkling stars hanging above the beautiful minarets of the mosque were sensational. The most striking feature of the sight was the green dome over the center of the mosque, where the tomb of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is located, it’s not only about its beauty that attracted me, but there was something more that pulled me towards it. The peace I felt there gave me immense satisfaction.. …It was now that I felt even more closer to our Prophet, I realised the importance of the sunnah more….Whenever I hear the soulful call for prayers, performed my Solat, I achieved great serenity and peace….To feel being in such holy places is beyond an imagination….only the people who had visited this place can understand its value, its importance….Alhamdulillah how can I thank Allah(swt) for giving me this opportunity….I hope to be invited to come here again..Ameen Ameen Ameen

:.Bobo Bear Project.:

Posted in Kids by tai2tee on January 17, 2010

Eversince I became a SAHM, I’m fully focused with my boys’s work.  Be it homework, revision, tests, exams or projects.  Aliff started out with his projects since he was in P3 and I was actively involved in every project.  I’ll fetch all his team members and they’ll hold their meetings at my place as I know some of their parents are working.  With this arrangement, I’ll be able to keep track of their movements and their project as well also, I’ll give my feedbacks whenever they asked.  There was once when they had their 1st  meeting at Macdonalds, I was present too and these poor kids doesn’t know what and how to start with.  After giving my advise of what needs to be done, they were able to start their discussion.  One of them thought that I was a teacher, some would tell Aliff, eh your mommy good ah, always help you..and somehow that made Aliff proud.  This is an opportunity for me to bond with my child and so far it has been positive. :)

As for Ziqry, he was given the 1st mini project to do.  He brought back a “Bobo Bear” and told me that we must take a picture of it and write down in the book given.  He was very excited about it, each time he will remind me “Ehemmm Ummi, take my picture and Bobo please”..I’ll tell him to wait.. and again he’ll keep reminding me until he saw me with the camera.  I wanted him to think and come out with his own creativity, I dont want to be spoon feeding him.  And guess what, this boy of mine told me, “ok ummi, i eat bread and then u take pic ah”

This is the 1st shot:

Then he said Ummi I want to read to Bobo ok

And after taking pictures of him and his Bobo Bear *Yawn Yawn*

Here’s the end result,of cos i had to help him with the narration and the spelling.   Ermm but please excuse his handwriting…hehehehe

Thats the end of his project.  More to come? You bet!

Tararumpum

Posted in Family Time by tai2tee on January 16, 2010

Today, we went to a friend’s birthday party, after sending mom and sis back, we headed back home.  Mr M, is on afternoon shift these 2 days and that explains why we’ll be staying indoors for the weekend.  Anyway, I love being indoors and away from the freaking hot sun.  I do love to go out at night though.  Anyway, after the boys had done with their revision & homework, we watched a Hindi movie ‘Tararumpum’.

The movie is about how a poor New York resident, who is of Indian origin, dreams of becoming a fast car race driver. He endeavors, and his efforts are rewarded when he was selected by a little-known group called ‘RACING SADDLES’. He joins them and soon becomes their ace race driver. This man, whose name is Rajveer, then meets with a rich American woman, also of Indian origin, whose name is Radhika. Both fall in love with each other. They cannot get married, because Radhika’s family hates Rajveer mainly because he is very poor. But Radhika is very stubborn, so she marries him. She loses all her rights to her family’s wealth. They get married and become parents of two children. They also become very rich. Then Rajveer has an accident which changes their lives forever.  My boys liked the movie too, mainly because its about Car Racing, so they stay glued to the tv just like me…hehehe..We loved the songs in the movie, this one in particular, its just too cute…Bear Dancing

I’m heading to Mustafa Centre on Mr M’s off day to get the VCD! Woohooo….

Mom called up this morning, wanting me to go over her place as she had cooked Mee Kuah Kerang. We went over after Zohor, as I was enjoying Mom’s cooking, Dad took the opportunity to ask me about my Umrah experiences. Once a while, i could see tears in his eyes, i know he missed going there! Well hello, who doesnt?! We chatted for quite a while when I overhead mom saying “anak dengan bapak kalau dah berjumpa dah macam Forum Perdana!” Tau takper mak!..hehehehe

We watched a Tamil movie together, yes another Tamil movie since yesterday, the title is Shankar Dada MBBS…Shankar Dada is a gangster with a good heart who defends his extortion and settlement business as social service to maintain peace in society. But at the same time he pretends to be a doctor to his parents to make them contented with his achievement. One fine day, Dr. Lingam – dean of the biggest medical college in Hyderabad – exposes the real identity Shankar Dada to his parents. Shankar Dada’s parents then left him. That’s when Shankar Dada decides to become doctor in real to teach a lesson to Dr. Lingam and at the same time to prove to his parents that their son is a doctor, indeed! A heartwarming movie! I shall drop by Mustaffa Centre one of these days to grab this movie lah dey…

On the way home, my boys insisted on having Macdonalds for dinner, since I pun dah lamer tak makan Macdonalds, we went ahead lah..somehome the twister fries reminded me so much of the A&W curly fries, and then i thought of the Root Beer and then the Coney Dog and then the Waffle Ice Cream yummmmyy I want to go KL!!  See lah baru balik dah nak pergi merayap lagik! Asking for trouble kena grounded ngan Mr M baru tahu!

Stay At Home Weekend

Posted in Family Time by tai2tee on January 9, 2010

It was a shocking morning to begin with, when Aliff left for his Andalus weekend class, I had subconciously locked the main door, Mr M came back from work and got so frustrated pasal kena locked out, he called me pun I didnt answer, ni case dah tido mati! He banged the door so loudly that I jumped out my bed, yes I literally jumped up! And when he entered, he started nagging..i was half awake, didnt pay attention to what he said.

Had my breakfast, prepared the kids theirs and started my ironing, that has been my weekend routine regularly. After which I served Mr M his lunch, solat zohor and went back to sleep again..this time round all 4 of us slept..its payback time man! I woke up 1st, showered, and watched a Hindi movie on Vasantham. Mr M kept repeating “You ah like to be conned by this hindi people eh, hahahah” Anyway I have to agree, the ending was abrupt, so anti climax lah..

Later after magrib pulak, we watched “Enchanted” with my boys, Mr M went back to sleep again, he’s on night shift. I fell in love with the movie instantaneously, I fell in love with both the actor and actress, both so handsome so gorgeous…matching couple I would say! Later when Mr M went off to work I watched a Tamil movie hurhurhur! Best jugak the movie tau, normal lah pasal politic but the ending was good and expected…and while I was watching the movie, I applied henna on my fingers, vainpot, I know! :)

Wonder wats up for tomorrow…maybe going over to mom’s place for a while lah, macam dah lama tak pergi sana…
